Courtesy of Elgin County Archives, and a photograph from the Robert Moore Postcard Collection, the featured photo is a coloured postcard illustration of pedestrians crossing the pre-existing steel truss bridge structure over Kettle Creek in Port Stanley, ca. 1912.

With the west bridge span having just been lowered within the last hour, Landform Civil Infrastructure staff will now continue their effort to refurbish and/or upgrade the various mechanical, electrical and control systems. In the absence of these systems, unfortunately the bridge will remain closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and is not anticipated to be raised “opened” for large watercrafts until May 1st.
